Project Awards support new innovations, initiatives, and projects. In 2023 the following awards were offered:
Record Enable Hardship Award
The award is for women who will make a career out of audio engineering or music production.
Value of the award: $1000.

We welcome applications from women who meet the following criteria:
- Are enrolled in an NZQA approved tertiary qualification
- Are a citizen of New Zealand or hold a resident class visa and live in New Zealand
- Are studying audio engineering and/or music production within any aspect of their study in 2024 at Certificate level (NZQA level (3-4) or Diploma level (NZQA level 5-6) or Degree Level, (NZQA levels 7 and above).
- Are experiencing hardship in regard to their study.
Selection Criteria
When considering the application, emphasis will be placed on:
- Academic record and potential to successfully complete your programme of study
- Background information including reasons for returning to education, future study or employment goals
- How the award will contribute to your success
Sonja Davies Peace Award
The award promotes initiatives that advance peace in New Zealand and is available to a woman or group led by a woman who is developing an initiative that will help them create a more peaceful world at home, school, the workplace, or in the community. It includes initiatives addressing the elimination of family violence, promotion of understanding and cooperation between groups or activities that foster mediation or conflict resolution.
This award was set up in memory of Sonja Davies who was a renown women’s rights campaigner social activist, trade union leader and politician.
Value of the award: maximum of $4000.

Eligibility Criteria for Sonja Davies Peace Award
The project lead (the person completing the application form) must be a woman who is a citizen of New Zealand or holds a resident class visa and lives in New Zealand and:

- Intends to use the award to carry out an initiative which advances peace in New Zealand, and benefits women and girls in New Zealand
- Plans to undertake training that will be applied to a peace-related activity in New Zealand
- Is conducting the initiative in conjunction with, or with the support of, a recognised NGO or other relevant not for profit organisation

Social Cohesion Award
Social inclusion can be defined as the process by which efforts are made to ensure equal opportunity for all members of society to participate fully in every aspect of life. This award is open to a woman or group of women (including organisations or networks) to fund initiatives that seek to promote social cohesion through initiatives that encourage inclusion and equality for women and girls in education, the workplace, or other relevant settings in New Zealand.
Value of the award: $1500.
