Purpose of the award
The Zonta Club of South Auckland Trades Award is available to a South Auckland woman who is under 35 years of age and who is enrolled in a course that will prepare her for an apprenticeship in a trades field.

The awards are a one off grant to help with study and/or living expenses.

 

Eligibility criteria
To apply for a Trades Award you must meet all the following eligibility criteria (NOTE:  EITHER bullet-point 3 OR 4 though)

The applicant is a woman, who:

  • Is under 35 years of age at 12 April 2017
  • Is a South Auckland resident ( lives within the area from Tamaki Estuary to the north and Pokeno in the south) NOTE: Can still be studying outside of the South Auckland area
  • Has recently completed secondary school studies and is now enrolled in a NZQA approved course, of at least one semester’s duration, that will prepare her for an apprenticeship in a trades field
  • OR has returned to study after a break and is now enrolled in a NZQA approved course, of at least one semester’s duration, that will prepare her for an apprenticeship in a trades field
  • OR is currently in a trades training course, and working in an apprenticeship.
  • Is a New Zealand citizen or holds a resident class visa, and lives in New Zealand
  • Has not previously received a NHWT Second-Chance Education Foundation Study Award
