The New Horizons for Women Trust administers a variety of awards that help women return to education and training and awards that promote innovation and research which benefit women.

The Awards are sponsored by a number of supporting organisations.

Second Chance Awards for Women

Things have got a whole lot tougher for women struggling to build a better life for themselves and their families through educating themselves. New Horizons provides awards to women for second chance tertiary education.  Applications are now closed for 2010

Special awards

Peg Hutchison Opportunity Award

The Peg Hutchison Award was made possible through a generous bequest by Peg, long time treasurer of NHWT. This new award is to be granted for the first time in 2010 to women who are changing direction in their career, and intend working in a field where women are under-represented and/or non-traditional for women. 

Sonja Davies Peace Award

The Sonja Davies Peace Award, to honour the work and achievements of Sonja Davies, and to promote women’s initiatives to advance the cause of peace ($2,500) . Applications are now closed for 2010.

Ria McBride Public Service Management Award
